Circular Economy Policies and Legislation: Experiences from Emerging Economies

On the 21st of July 2022, we hosted a World Circular Economy (WCEF) 2022 Side Event together with Chatham House on "Circular Economy Policies and Legislation: Experiences of Emerging Economies". We discussed the necessity of circular economy policies and regulations in emerging economies, as well as the obstacles and enablers of such frameworks and the advantages of implementing them. The event counted the participation from the Ellen McArthur Foundation, United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), and Chatham House as well as government representatives from Ethiopia, Senegal, Zimbabwe, Bangladesh, Guatemala, Trinidad and Tobago, and Georgia.
