About the event

China and Denmark have recently developed policy frameworks revolving around bioeconomy. While the approaches of the two nations differ, they both recognize the importance of bioeconomy in future economic development.

Using these policies as a foundation, the Innovation Centre Denmark in collaboration with Circular Innovation Lab, has published a report which aims to highlight how these differences in approaches present challenges and opportunities for collaboration between Denmark and China in the Bioeconomy Sector.

This online presentation was tailored for companies and research partners, where Christian Hviid Jonstrup, Innovation Officer & Head of Research at Innovation Centre Denmark, Shanghai, and Arpit Bhutani, COO at Circular Innovation Lab, presented key findings from the report.

Insights revolved around the following topics:

  • The dynamics of bioeconomy terminology between the two countries

  • Mutual cooperation interests

  • The significance of China's five-year bioeconomy plan

  • How Denmark's focus on food, water, bio and environmental sectors intersect with China's strategies

  • Potential collaboration strategies

  • insightful feed analyses
