Introducing CIL Foundation: An Independent Non-Profit for Circular Economy

Circular Innovation Lab (CIL) is elated to announce the launch of the CIL Foundation, an independent non-profit entity that builds upon CIL’s legacy while opening new opportunities to collaborate with international organizations.

The Foundation shares CIL’s core objectives but provides a dedicated structure to engage more strategically with global partners. By operating as a non-profit, CIL Foundation will formally work with institutions such as UN agencies, the World Bank, the European Commission, and other multilateral bodies. This status enables participation in international programs and strengthens the role of circular economy expertise in shaping global initiatives.

A central feature of CIL Foundation is its independent governance structure, which ensures transparency, accountability, and alignment with international standards. This independence gives confidence to partners while keeping the Foundation closely connected to CIL’s mission and expertise.

Alongside policy engagement, CIL Foundation will also advance non-profit and charitable activities around the circular economy. These include projects that raise awareness, build capacity, and provide platforms for knowledge sharing. The Foundation supports national governments in developing tailored circular economy strategies and action plans and delivers workshops on circular principles, systems and policy design, and circular business models. All of these activities are designed to generate public benefit and accelerate systemic change.
